Environmental and Facility Monitoring Systems

Advantech has an excellent reputation for developing Environmental Monitoring (EMS) and Facility Management Systems (FMS). While Environmental Monitoring applications focus on air, water, river, dam, urban, bridge, tunnel and electric applications. Facility Management targets factory and remote SCADA applications. Advantech’s EFMS combines both Environmental Monitoring and Facility Management to provide value-added systems and solutions through high-volume SCADA and advanced web-based technology, allowing users to monitor and operate processes anytime, anywhere via standard browser.

Applications
Air Quality Monitoring
Environmental protection is one of the important current topics in the industrial community. In 2007 China established the Polluting Prevention Regulation to limit its emissions, control pollution, and raise the standard of pollution monitoring.
Telecom Station Facility Management
Each year, more and more telecom stations are being established. Most of the high-tech equipment inside these stations are very expensive though, and lack the proper manpower for maintenance. With only a few employees to monitor these large stations, many of the systems are at risk of breaking down or malfunctioning.
Water Treatment Management
Water treatment management is a very complex, consisting of a long main pipeline with many branches, valves, and hybrid mechanical devices. Though the physical elements are a long-term constant, it is difficult to set up a proper control mechanism for the entire system.

White Papers
Summary: There can be too much of a good thing, or so goes the old saying. Fortunately, new technology can come to the rescue, at least in certain cases. For example, an industrial enterprise can grow too big for efficient automation control using traditional technology. However, advances in industrial Ethernet can provide a solution, if such techniques as smart remote I/O and peer-to-peer technology are implemented. The result could be better and more flexible control, along with a change in the way Ethernet is used. This white paper discusses the benefits of Smart I/O and Peer-to-Peer Technology.
